I've been on an orientation camp all this week, staying in a beautiful old hotel with creaky stairs, and nice staff.
It was so different to all of the Dookie orientation weekends I was used to back home. There was only 4 of us for one, Caitlin from New Zealand, Zac from Melbourne, Andrew from Perth and me from little ole Jindera. Most days we had Swedish lessons with Ingmar (Iggy), a fuddydud of a man, who is really adorable but suprisingly rascist! As a goodbye present we were going to get him this shirt they sell here that says 'Fuck Racism!'. Unfortunately I think I know like less Swedish then I did before the lessons... Also everyday we would go to a Rotary meeting for lunch, and well I'm definately not going to complain about a free meal. On the Wednesday we went to Yxbacken to go night seeing, which as it suggests was in the dark!! We had no lessons either it was just a 'here are some skiis, off you go' and well that didnt turn out so great and resulted in me sliding on my butt down a slope for a LONG time! It was so embarrassing these guys snowboarded past me 4 times! After this attempt I then decided it was best to stick to the kiddie slope, where a few locals got a good laugh out of us, we told them all we were pro surfers though to make up for it haha. In the end I think we all got quite a few memories we will not forget out of it all :)
Now for the weekend I'm off to Linkopping to get in touch with nature or something. This time it'll be all of the exchange students, should be fun!
