So I have been on Påsk (Easter) break for a week, so my host family and I headed down to Skåne! I really love it there its so relaxed, I spent most of the days laying on the hammock reading, playing golf and sitting in the outdoor woodfired hot tub!
On the first day my host Dad took me to this enormous shop thing, I couldnt believe how big it was it went on and on! It was so cool, I wanted to steal all the vintage furniture and paintings and well pretty much everything! My camera was being super shitty though so I only have a few photos of not to much in particular there.
During the Easter celebration days we would gather with the lovely neighbours and eat incredible amounts of food, decorate eggs then play games with them, it was all lots of fun. On the Easter Sunday I went on a 6hour long walk around the lake near where we live. It was so beautiful walking through swampy forest areas then alongside the water, its been such Spring weather I adore this time of the year, I swear even peoples personalities change, it makes the Swedes seem so much more happy and alive!
I then on the 25th, departed Skåne and took the train to Gothenburg, it took 4hours for me to get there and as soon as I arrived I met Caitlin and her host sister there and we headed off to the ANZAC day ceremony, which we luckily found considering we had no idea about where we were going! The ceremony was quite nice, but of course the reception was much more fun. It was held in the middle of Gothenburg in the big park, inside a huge green house! It was so cool. I really didnt feel like I was in Sweden anymore with so many mainly Australians around me, it had such a cool atmosphere. There they served us vegemite sandwiches, ANZAC biscuits, sausage rolls and a few other goodies.
I then realised that I missed just the way Australians have about them, like their presence in general, how they stand and talk when they're telling a story. It was real nice. After that we went for a little wander around the town. Mainly in search for the Australian pub that is there called the 'Dancin' Dingo'. All of the other exchange students we were with that day then had to go home, so me and Caitlin as we do best went and found a nice place to eat and treated ourselves! As you can see it was delicious! I don't think I've ever had nicer raviolli, the flavours just all worked amazingly  together, it was so so good. I definately plan to go back there.
Then we went back and stayed at Lousie, Caitlin's host sisters apartment for the night.
The next day our train didn't leave till around 6pm, so Jess another exchange student joined us for some shopping in the city. But first we had to eat! We found ourselves a Thai buffet that we went slightly crazy at, the food was so good and we ate so much, we had to sit there for like an hour after before we could move again. then we shopped (:
It was great going to the stores, Jess showed us some really cool vintage and second hand shops that she knew I would like, but as most in Sweden, secondhand shops are just as or more expensive then normal ones. We also had a nice admire of shops like Topshop, Zara, Acne and a few others that were but there was no way I could ever afford any of it! So after we got sick of shopping and nearly got hit by several trams, we grabbed some icecreams and sat along the canal to finish off a lovely day!

So well on the train ride back, Caitlin and myself experienced some difficulties, Caitlin was quite sick and as we went to get off at our first stop to change onto a buss back to Norrkoping, the train door wouldn't open so the train just took off with us still helplessly on it. Our 2.5 hour trip home soon turned into 6 hours! We had to go all the way to Stockholm then catch another train from there down to Norrkoping, it was a bit of a pain. But we finally got home at around midnight!
Also yesterday was quite an exciting day for me, I met the host family that I am moving to on... MONDAY :O
So first impressions is they seem really cool, I have a mum and a dad and a brother. They seem so friendly and sort of chilled, but we'll have to wait and see. My new home is a bit out of town alongside a lake which our house looks over. The have a big deck that sort of hangs over the edge of the hill with a swimming pool on it. The don't have any pets but is it okay to say the fact that I will have siblings will almost make up for it?
Also bad news is my host brother speaks good English! He is 15 and seems quite mature for his age and speaks with a British accent. My host dad has a pony tail and sits on the chair with his legs folded while we all drink tea together. I love that they seem so excited to have me staying with them! I'm a little nervous because they have never been a host family before, but I think that is good in ways too. Anyway I will let you know how my moving in goes and such, oh and I will definately post a picture of the amazing view I will have asap!
Today was the last Family Friday Fika I had with Anne and Jan, Its all quite sad, but of course as every Friday, the fika cakes make up for it :D
